Amy Schumer – The most successful comedienne?

Amy Beth Schumer, the famous American stand-up comedian originally from Long Island, New York, is making it big as a comedienne. Schumer has made a huge fan following since her Ryan Dunn joke, which received a lot of criticism yet got her acclaim.

Amy Beth Schumer placed 4th on NBC's "Last Comic Standing" season 5. She also placed 2nd on Comedy Central's "Reality Bites Back". Schumer is also in the southern belle Butterfingers Snackers' commercial. But these appearances didn't get her the recognition she now enjoys because of her stand-up comedy talent

. Amy Beth Schumer made unwelcome headlines for her remarks to "Jackass" star Steve-O over the death of his friend, Ryan Dunn, in September. She said, "Steve-O! But I'm truly sorry for the loss of your friend, Ryan Dunn. I know you must have been thinking 'It could have been me.' I know we were all thinking, why wasn't it?" Schumer said on "Charlie Sheen Roast", which was aired on Comedy Central Monday.

When the camera panned to Steve-O, the funny stuntman looked visibly upset and angered by the comments. People had mixed responses on Schumer's remarks on this sensitive issue. Schumer's fellow comedian Rob Fee tweeted, "Anyone who feels like Amy Schumer crossed the line w a Ryan Dunn joke at the #sheenroast, its ur fault for thinking theres a line at a roast."

Entrepreneur Sebastian said, "Yooooooooo this blonde Amy Schumer was BRUTAL on this roast! Wow! Lmao". David Collins tweeted, "Amy schumer, you're not famous or pretty enough to say anything you just said". At the end of the day, Schumer realized what she said was wrong and apologized. Now, she is working with fellow comedienne Whitney Cummings and they are busy with her hit NBC show.

Schumer is not just a comedienne; she is an excellent writer as well. She has written for Cosmopolitan magazine and co-hosted a weekly music show with Blink 182 member Mark Hoppus on the Fuse network. "New York - I'm so glad I started there . . . I think New York keeps you on your toes. I think you've got to be really strong to move to New York and flourish there as a comic. It's a tough scene there," Schumer told Splitsider in April.
